The way we view the world shapes the stories we tell each other. These stories help us retain some level of rationality with in this world. For example when we have no idea what the sun is we tell our selves that it is actually a god that rides thru the sky being followed by the moon. Back then stories were told that when a specific god or mythical creature feels anger a natural disaster occurs. An example of this is with Poseidon Greek god of the sea, it was told that when he was upset he would create Tsunamis. These kinds of stories also lead to superstitions and rituals that had to be fulfilled in order to avoid catastrophes. For example to use Poseidon again sailors, fishermen, and navigators offered sacrifices to Poseidon in order to ensure but The bounty of fish safe travels and wind on the sea.
